Creation
Project

Psychologists
believe that artistic activity assists in the mourning process, and call this
"Subtle Mourning". The Raz-Ram Foundation's projects aim to give expression
to this process among orphaned children and youth who have experienced the trauma
of personal loss, who can benefit from this professional support.
"Creation Project"
is an artistic tutoring project developed over the last few years by the Raz-Ram
Foundation. It is based on the classical tutoring model, but expanded to include
different technical and conceptual aspects. At
the foundation of each "Creation Project" an orphaned child is provided
with an artistic tutor who will work with him or her on a personal level in an
artistic field that interests them both. To support the project, the Foundation
maintains a country-wide network of artist-tutors covering a broad spectrum of
artistic areas. In many cases, the artist-tutor comes from a similar background
of personal loss, which enables a deeper and more significant connection and identification
between the tutor and the child. The
creative support provided by the Foundation is also instrumental in developing
a joint creative project, and sowing a seed of creation into the hearts of the
children that enables them to develop and express their connection with their
tutor and with their own creative energies. The Foundation supports the creative
partnership, providing it with a "creativity grant" to cover their work
over a year. The creative support also includes contacts with professional art
and cultural institutions relevant to the partnership's field of artistic activity.
Out of a tutorship
in music emerged the idea of establishing a unique chamber orchestra
- from a tutorship in dance, performances were presented - a book
of poetry and photography was published - art exhibitions were held
- and many other projects that addressed the ideas of memory and
commemoration on a personal and collective level - in all areas
of the arts: Classical music, Pop
music, Jazz music, Drawing
& sculpture, ceramics, Dance,
Theater, Poetry, Writing, Design,
Landscape design, Product design, Architecture,
Sport, On-line art, Photography, Video
and film.
